  1. The product is good for the price. Most mounts seem like they will cost you an arm and a leg. This one will cost you a finger or two.

Overall construction is pretty good, but the screws that come with it are garbage. I read that they were a problem in other reviews and decided to test them for myself. Even with guide holes drilled, the stock screws snapped with any type of resistance.

The mount is sturdy, but for a ceiling mount, it seems that the range of motion might be a little sketchy.

Not a bad product. You get more than what you paid for.

  2. This mount is really nice because you aren’t restricted to hanging the tv on a wall. You can put it anywhere in the room that you want. It has a very sturdy construction and allows you to place the tv at different heights and angles. The best part about this mount is that I only paid $30 for it which is much cheaper than most tv mounts.

  3. As mentioned in other reviews there is a little wobble in the adjustable drop bars but that is not really a problem. Closer tolerances would raise the price. The bars can be cut down if you need a shorter drop. Once mounted the TVs could be easily adjusted to maximize the viewing angle. The mount kits fit the Vizio TVs perfectly. They come with plastic inserts for installation in sheetrock. I would advise against this unless you were mounting a very small and light set. Try to hit a ceiling joist with at least 3 of the screws. Better yet install a 2×4 or 2×6 between the joists. You will have more angle options for the base of the mount. You will also get an extremely sturdy mount. If you do install it into wood and not sheetrock, pre-drill your holes with a drill bit a couple of sizes smaller than the screws. The screw heads provided strip out easily if you try to screw them into wood without a pilot hole. I found this out the hard way.

  4. I bought this item to mount a 19″ Spectre LCD TV in my unfinished basement so I could watch TV while running on the treadmill.

This mount does the job and was pretty affordable, so I’m happy with it overall. However, here are my main complaints:

-Too long. I’ve seen from other reviews that you can modify the pole so your TV doesn’t hang as low, but this problem isn’t bugging me enough to warrant messing with it. It would be nice if it didn’t hang quite so low from the ceiling, however.

-Tightness. The mount doesn’t hold the TV in place real well. Specifically X-axis 190 degree adjustments. The TV is free to move left/right more than it should. You can tighten the screw to make it hold the TV in place a little better, but then its difficult to adjust the TV… and after adjusting the TV, the screw is loose again and the TV swivels. This isn’t really a problem for me since I’m not constantly adjusting the position, but I can see how it would be a problem for others.

-Quality of included screws. The included screws for attaching the mount to the ceiling are way too soft. All of them stripped out on me very easily when installing into a 2×4, even when using pre-drilled holes as the instructions suggest. I used some deck screws instead and problem solved. It was frustrating removing the stripped screws, though.

Overall, I’m glad I purchased it when comparing the price to other mounts on the market.

  5. We needed a ceiling mount for a smaller tv. The range of screw holes on the mount allows for most tvs to attach to it. It is also one of the few mounts, at an affordable price, that has the ability to rotate the screen up/down (as opposed to just left/right). The post was actually too long, since the ceiling we were mounting to was really low, but I saw on another review that someone just sawed the post and drilled a new hole to make it shorter. Seemed simple enough, so I took the chance- it was very easy to shorten and now our 19″ tv is a mere 2″ from the ceiling. It is PERFECT. Note: it says not to install into a stud and to only use drywall anchors- I do NOT recommend not screwing into a stud- it would NOT hold up even our small tv, and it’s only a light 19″.
